Grain Store Operatives (Petworth Chichester)

Langmead Farms is a successful group 1 Milling Wheat producer in the Chichester area. With an extensive arable operation in Chichester we are also an international producer of salad and vegetables with operations in both the UK and Spain. We currently have vacancies for grain store operatives. The roles will commence on 13th July 2011 initially for short term contracts of six weeks but with potential for longer term work for the right candidates. The role will involve taking day to day responsibility for the grain store allocated to you and ensuring that it operates effectively and safely. Duties will include Assessing and testing grain for moisture content Ensuring effective drying of grain where required Co-ordinating the delivery flow through and storage of grain Maintaining bins scales dryer and grain handling system Candidates should hold a full valid UK driving licence. You should also hold a rough terrain telescopic handler license and be confident on a telehandler. Previous experience of tractor driving and knowledge of vehicle safety would be desirable.
