Production Engineer (Abingdon)

We are a small technology company specialising in the design of novel lens products for the surveillance and inspection industry. We are currently recruiting a production engineer to take the lead in establishing an in-house prototyping assembly and test capability. Responsibilities will include working with suppliers assembling complex lens products determining appropriate test methods and taking responsibility for deliverable quality. Candidates will be expected to be highly self motivated and happy working under minimal supervision have very high personal work standards and be capable of working well in a team and getting things done through others. Essential requirements include good core numerical and written skills minimum 3 years experience including in a senior production role ability to combine both theoretical and hands-on skills to understanding and solving production problems experience of managing suppliers and subcontractors Experience and understanding of any of the following would be desirable Optical assembly Surveillance devices Mechanical design using Solidworks or similar Knowledge of Iso9001 and related quality standards and procedures Project Management.
