Job Description Key Tasks The Environmental Test Engineer would normally be qualified to a minimum of Hnc D in an engineering discipline. Environmental Test Engineers report to the Test House Manager and have the responsibilities detailed below. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the conduct of specific environmental test programmes from initial customer enquiry through to compilation of the final test report Continuous improvement of the safety and quality management activities within direct control. Engineering Responsibility for the introduction of novel techniques or facilities required by the trial Pc literate and able to use Microsoft Office applications including Ms Project Vibration and Shock control software and general data logging software Mechanical Dynamic Testing including vibration shock acceleration and drop testing (including vibration and mechanical shock theory accelerometer use signal processing and practical vibration and shock testing Climatic Testing including temperature humidity altitude and salt fog (including Prts Thermcouples humidity measurement chamber calibration pressure sensors etc Responsibility for the design stress analysis and procurement of specialised vibration acceleration and shock test fixtures Has an in depth understanding of relevant standard specifications Def Stans Mil Std Rtca and Stanags etc Understands of the requirements of a quality system meeting the requirements of Iso 9001 and Iso 17025 Provides support to the maintenance of the test facilities as and when required Management Deputising for the Test House Manager as and when required Support a team of multi-skilled engineers to ensure all testing within the Test House is completed safely within cost time-scale and to the customers satisfaction Responsible for the control and monitoring of trials programmes assigned Visit customers site as necessary and represent the Test House on all safety technical and commercial matters pertaining to the trial Responsibility for the compilation of the Environmental Test Record (Etr) and Task File and associated technical documents for assigned test programmes Responsibility for carrying out relevant on the job training for Engineers Technicians and Assistants Manage projects to customer expectation Identify training needs and monitor application of training. Health and Safety Compliance with the requirements of Health and Safety legislation for self and others Responsible for the identification and control of all trial specific hazards Responsible for ensuring all members of staff supporting each trial have been briefed on the trial specific safety and technical requirements and are competent to carry out the necessary tasks Implementation of a safe system of work through their respective Risk Assessments and Test Instructions Responsibility for general housekeeping for allocated buildings in Etf Meridian Business Support are acting on behalf of our Clients as a Recruitment Agency.
