Stafinders are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager for their client a large engineering and technical organisation. The position is the face of the company to the customer and so a strong customer focus is essential. A key element of the role will be to develop a strong relationship with their customer base in order to maintain and grow order intake from each customer. The position does not involve any line management responsibility. However the position will work closely with the Sales Office and specific technical teams in order to develop proposals in response to customer enquiries. Team-working is therefore an important aspect of the role. Primary Job Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Head of Sales and Marketing you will be required to develop a customer base in a proactive manner in line with specific services highlighted in the companies strategic business plan and maintain key customer relationships from within that customer base as agreed with the Head of Sales and Marketing. Work with Head of Sales and Marketing to agree strategic service targets from the companies strategic business plan. Proactively develop a customer base in line with agreed activities identified in the companies strategic business plan. Develop strong customer relationships within the agreed service areas a customer maintenance role Undertake customer visits and meet agreed monthly visit targets Achieve agreed Order Intake Targets Provide monthly reports for the Head of Sales and Marketing giving an overview of activity during the reporting period Prepare formal proposals in response to customer enquiries. Liaise with the Sales Office and technical teams as appropriate for proposal preparation Maintain the internal Management Information System (Mis inputting all relevant information relating to enquiries received Competencies Personal Attributes Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following Customer focus Self motivation Team working Working to deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills.
