Job Title Production Supervisor Location Newcastle Department function To continuously exceed our customers expectations by achieving world class standards in Health Safety Quality Cost Delivery and Morale and continuously improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our people and processes. Main function of job Management and co-ordination of personnel materials and equipment necessary to ensure our client delivers a high quality product to our customers in a safe and timely manner. Motivating and leading team members to achieve world class manufacturing standards leading improvement of manufacturing processes fostering a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement and developing team leaders and team members capable of driving our client forward. In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required Main duties Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all Team Members by continuously promoting developing and reaffirming Our client s Health Safety management system to create and maintain an Injury and Incident Free environment Contact the necessary personnel and or services in the case of an emergency accident etc. to provide the appropriate support required to team members in such situations Plan and allocate resources effectively using appropriate visual management tools and documentation to ensure achievement and adherence to Our client s standards targets Interact with support teams (Maintenance Qc Methods and Application Engineers) via formal meetings and as required on an ad hoc basis to ensure the efficient running of the business Monitor production performance and report results between shifts using agreed reporting methods and visual management to ensure visibility and continuity of production around the clock Where applicable management of the facility after normal hours with respect to the safety and security of the premises by coordination of resources and providing a rapid response to problems so as to ensure safety of personnel and continuity of production. Effectively manage team members by outwardly displaying an understanding of and steadfast adherence to company policies and procedures to guarantee fairness and consistency. Lead Quality improvement by facilitating the process of identifying and eliminating risks of defects to ensure customer satisfaction. Develop lead improve the Daily Management System by creating and rigidly following leader standard work constantly striving to increase personal efficiency aiming to reduce inconsistency and improve stability of material and information flow. Support improve Team Member standardised work by auditing and coaching to help increase effectiveness. Set Smart objectives and monitor progress by carrying out individual performance appraisals and supporting Team Members to achieve their goals providing constructive feedback on performance on an ongoing basis. Develop implement training plans (using agreed formats and matrices) to monitor and develop Team Member competence and to improve engagement and motivation. Lead coach support daily problem solving activities by providing a forum to collect analyse and solve problems found by Team Members during production thus driving continuous improvement. Lead projects and or improvement events by analysing data highlighting priority issues and creating improvement teams with the ability to identify and implement positive change.
