Service and It Operations Manager (Telco Voip Linux Unix The role sits within the It team and reports directly to the It Director overseeing the administration and maintenance of all It and telephony network services and infrastructure. You will manage a team of around 5 engineers who will support our client s technology services. The Service and Operations manager is responsible for supporting the technology infrastructure of the business managing change and enhancements monitoring service performance diagnosing problems and responding to and resolving of incidents. The hardware comprises Linux and Windows based servers Cisco network equipment Video conferencing servers desktop equipment (Pc s printers etc) and cabling located and hosted in various Data Centre locations. The services include web services (Apache MySql databases email Dns Nas and voice conferencing systems. The role also involves liaising with external suppliers and internal departments and acting as an escalation point within the company. The suitable candidate should have a solid background in service and server delivery preferably with a Telco background and should have experience of current best practice and industry standards. Responsibilities Taking ownership and accountability for all operational services Proactive leadership and management of actions carried out by the operations team in order to provide consistent and exceptional service Line management to ensure high performance. My client is a decent and improving state primary school situated in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The school itself is an average sized two form entry primary school set within easy commute from the nearest underground station.
