Lead Software Test Engineer (cambourne)

This is a strategic role in which the successful candidate will Drive realism in software development and testing through implementation of real-world Citrix-based environments including internal deployments. Have significant influence in the quality and technical direction of our products. Develop modify and evaluate software test planning documentation used to design implement test and optimize software on multiple projects. Provide expertise consultancy and guidance to Software Development and Test Engineers. Qualifications and Requirements Responsible for guiding the test team on industry standard practice in the area of Citrix deployments networking and administration. Using this experience to design and set up realistic system test environments that accurately reflect real-world installations. Deployment of these systems to the development and test teams. Analyzes and reproduces customer issues reported by Customer Support and customer facing channels. Continuously feeding this experience back into improving the design of the product and in running internal deployments of Citrix software. Follows prescribed software engineering and test processes procedures and customer use cases. The successful candidate will have many of the following capabilities Thorough understanding of virtualisation particularly Citrix XenApp or XenDesktop products. Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems and networking. Practical knowledge of Active Directory probably gained through designing planning implementing and administering an Ad installation. Strong knowledge of current Virtualization platforms (XenServer Hyper-V Vmware) Good knowledge of San administration and storage. Ability to plan install and configure complex environments comprising multiple Citrix technologies. Willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly and mentor others technically. Ability to supervise lead projects. Excellent degree or equivalent in computer science or related field. For individuals holding an advanced degree in one of these fields additional years of formal education may be regarded as equivalent work experience. Conversely a near-perfect fit on work experience may be accepted as a substitute for degree. Likely to offer 4 years of relevant work experience including experience of Citrix software or similar.
